Donation Plan for 2012-January (MD-22)

Dear honored donors,

According to the mission of ODF Myanmar to assist as much as possible in uplifting health care, education and the quality of life of people from Myanmar, our ODF Myanmar team has planned to contribute donations for health care this time.

Therefore, as the donation plan for January-2012, we have decided to donate defibrillators.

The cost of each defibrillator is about USD 1200 (SGD 1570). In order for the donation to be more effective, we have planned to donate them to the hospitals where there are no such facilities and no learning aids.

We will accept the contributions to buy defibrillators till 12th February, 2012. Donation Event for October-2011 (MD-20)

Dear honored donors,

Let us share the great news that we have successfully accomplished our October-2011 donation project to provide drinking water supply for Ga Naing Htawt Village, Kyauk Ta Lone Kyi District, Taunggyi, Shan State by building ground-water resource utility and constructing a brick-tank.

With the combined funds of 2842 SGD collected in Singapore, 1816 SGD raised for Tar Lay Earthquake aftermath and 75,000 Kyats collected in Myanmar (total 2,890,000 Kyats), we built ground-water resource utility which is one and half inch in width and three hundred feet in depth and donated a seven-horsepower engine, compressor and brick-tank.

For the donation to last longer, local people also joined in making contributions. Approximately 2715 kg of groundnuts (which is equivalent to 318,000 Kyats) were donated by local people from Ga Naing Htawt Village and the funds were used to buy bricks, sand, lime, pebbles and to pay wages for construction workers.

Therefore, we would like to send a note of thanks to our honorable donors around the world who made generous contributions, ODF volunteers who enthusiastically participated in collecting donations, Ko Zaw Lynn Dwe and Admin team members who led the project, Ko Htin Aung Kyaw Oo who provided transportation to the village, Ga Naing Htawt villagers who made contributions as much as they could and all of our friends who helped around in our project of providing drinking water supply. To help the families of firefighters and victims of warehouse blast in Myanmar

Dear honored donors,

As we have already known, a large explosion and fire occurred early Thursday at Myanmar’s commercial hub in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon. The explosion collapsed and burnt the houses in the neighborhood, causing dozens of death and injuries. According to updated news from local journals by 9 am, 78 people, including 33 firefighters, were injured and 17 people, including five firefighters, were confirmed dead. Therefore, ODF Myanmar has decided to offer financial assistance to families of firefighters and victims who were killed by the massive explosion.

Contributions to assist left-behind family members will be collected until 8th January, 2012. Donation Plan for December-2011 (MD-21)

Dear honored donors,

As the donation plan for December-2011, we have decided to contribute our donation to the school for the blind located near Ma Har Ant Htoo Kan Thar Pagoda in Pyin Oo Lwin. The school is the place where free education and health facilities are being provided to blind children, regardless of race and religion. The children are being given training on Braille language, teachings of Buddha, academic education (from kindergarten to university), astrology, music, handicrafts (crochet, knitting, etc) and reflexology (Burmese, Japanese). Currently,  total 136 students (98 male students and 38 female students), including 3 high school students are being taken care at the school.

Therefore, we would like to inform that ODF Myanmar has decided to provide helping hands to the school of blind in Pyin Oo Lwin where not only basic necessities but also moral and academic education are given to the blind children under the guidance of Abbot U Nyin Nya with the following objectives:

1. Every blind person must learn Braille language
2. Every blind person must be physically and mentally healthy
3. Education for the blind in Myanmar must meet with world standards
4. Every blind person should be well adapted to live in human society
5. Physical and metal abilities of the blind people must be uplifted

Emergency Donation to Pakokku township

Let us share the donation records of contributing the blankets as our very first emergency response to the flood victims in Pakokku township. On October 25th, ODF Myanmar donated SGD 1,000 as an emergency aid  (from emergency fund) to assist flood victims in Pakokku Township. One hundred and forty eight blankets have been  donated to the flood victims on  28th October 2011.

Special  thanks to all donors, friends and  volunteers around the world who help us achieve this instant and important donation to Pakokku township.

We would like to inform, moreover, that we will offer a helping hand to flood victims both in emergency needs and in essential needs for re-establishing their lives such as constructing houses, ODF Myanmar has planned to collect donations till 30th November. Thank you.

Shall we help rebuild their lives?

As we have already known, hundreds of families from Pakkoku Township, Kyaukse Township, Kalay Township, Chauk Township and Sate Phyu Township are being suffered from aftermaths of the massive flood and are given accommodation and food at rescue camps. On October 25th, ODF Myanmar donated SGD 1,000 as an emergency aid to assist flood victims in Pakkoku Township.

In order to offer a helping hand to flood victims both in emergency needs and in essential needs for re-establishing their lives such as constructing houses, ODF Myanmar has planned to collect donations till 30th November. We would like to inform that we will contribute donations by one or two parts, depending on the situation of aid projects in those flooded areas and amount of collected funds.

Donation Event for September-2011 (MD-19)

Dear honored donors,

With great pleasure, we would like to inform that we contributed collected funds to “Aung Zay Yar Min” Orphanage on October 8, 2011 as our September-2011 donation. The orphanage is the place where 537 orphans, from infants to university students, are being taken care and more than 1,100 students from local area are being offered free education.

On behalf of ODF Myanmar donors, ODF Myanmar ground team in Yangon donated 15 lakhs Kyats to the orphanage.

“It is such a sorrowful scene to observe infants at the orphanage. Babies are given bottle feeding by the monks. You will see a toddler in the photo. He enjoys wandering around the adults.” said Ma Hana San who went to the orphanage to contribute donations on behalf of ODF Myanmar Group.

Therefore, we would like to say our warmest thanks to our donors, volunteers and friends for your generosity in contributing donations to “Aung Zay Yar Min” Orphanage, the place which provides not only basic necessities but also education to the poor and abandoned children.

လိႈင္သာယာၿမိဳ႕နယ္ အလယ္ရြာရွိ ေအာင္ေဇယ်ာမင္း မိဘမဲ့ ပရဟိတ ဘုန္းေတာ္ႀကီးသင္ ပညာေရးေက်ာင္းအား ODF Myanmar ရဲ႕ ၂၀၁၁-စက္တင္ဘာလအလွဴ (၁၉ ၾကိမ္ေျမာက္ လစဥ္အလွဴ)အျဖစ္ ေအာက္တိုဘာလ ၈ ရက္ေန႔တြင္ သြားေရာက္လွဴဒါန္းခဲ႔ပါတယ္။အဆိုပါေက်ာင္းတြင္ ေက်ာင္းအိပ္ေက်ာင္းစား မိဘမဲ႔ကေလးမ်ား ႏို႕စို႕အရြယ္မွ တကၠသိုလ္ေက်ာင္းသားအရြယ္ထိ ရိွပါတယ္။ ေက်ာင္းမွ ျပဳစုေစာင့္ေရွာက္ထားေသာ ကေလးေပါင္း ၅၃၇ ေယာက္ ရိွျပီး အျပင္မွ ေန႕ေက်ာင္းလာေရာက္တက္ေသာ ကေလးေပါင္း ၁၁၀၀ ေယာက္ ရိွပါတယ္။

Donation Plan for October-2011 (MD-20)

The location of Ga Naing Htawt Village

Dear honored donors,

As the donation plan for October-2011, we have decided to contribute our donation to provide drinking water supply for Ga Naing Htawt Village, Kyauk Ta Lone Kyi District, Taunggyi, Shan State by building ground-water resource utility. Since the area has difficulties in accessing drinking water, local people have to collect water from a nearby village which is 30-minute drive away by motorbikes. However, those who do not have motorbikes are still experiencing difficulties to get drinking water.

Although the Committee for accessing drinking water supply has been founded, enough funds has not been raised yet. Therefore, ODF Myanmar group has decided to provide drinking water supply for the village.

It is estimated that digging 300-feet-deep ground water well and buying compressor and water pump would cost about 20 lakhs Kyat and constructing a brink-tank would cost about 7 lakhs; the total would be about 27 lakhs Kyat (4350 SGD).

Please be informed that we have decided to use 1816 SGD (out of 2816 SGD which was raised to assist in Tar Lay Earthquake aftermath) for this plan and leave the rest 1000 SGD as emergency funds. Therefore, we estimate that 16 lakhs (2600 SGD) would be needed for October-2011 donation plan.

We will accept the contribution for providing drinking water supply for Ga Naing Htawt Village till 31st October, 2011.

ေရရရွိေရး ေကာ္မတီဖြဲ႔ထားသည္မွာ အတန္ၾကာျပီျဖစ္ေသာ္လည္း ေရတြင္းတူးႏိုင္ရန္ လံုေလာက္ေသာ ေငြပမာဏရသည္အထိ စုနိုင္ျခင္း မရွိေသးဟုလည္း သိရွိရပါတယ္။ ထို႔အတြက္ေၾကာင့္ ODF Myanmar အေနျဖင့္ အဆိုပါရြာအတြက္ ေသာက္သံုးေရ ရရွိေရးအတြက္ ကူညီရန္ ဆံုးျဖတ္ခဲ႔ပါတယ္။
